Doing Mission
Our mission is focused first on Arden Park, Arden Arcade, and the entire Arden area, second on Sacramento, and finally on the nation and the world:
Our local mission initiatives include:
- We support the Carmichael Food Closet, located at the Carmichael Presbyterian Church, with volunteers, food, and donations. Last year this Food Closet had more volunteers from Grace than any other church. With the recession, which has put many in Sacramento out of work, the need is greater now than ever before.
- We support Loaves and Fishes with volunteers, supplies, and donations. Again, the needs of the under-served in Sacramento are enormous.
National and international mission initiatives include:
- We currently exploring ecumenical initiatives for national health justice, to assure the availability of quality health care services and information to empower patient self-management.
- In a recent single-country initiative, we commissioned a respected leader in the congregation to participate in an ecumenical fact-finding mission to the Philippines.
- We look forward to exciting possibilities for joint mission with our Sister Church in the Philippines.
